Tips on how to keep your Intentions Right::
* Do the act in Private
* Repeat this “Ina Lillah wa inna ilayhi Rajioon” while or before the act to remind yourself of your ultimate purpose ( We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return)
* Make Dhikr (REMEMBERANCE) of Allah (SWT) while in the act.
* Ask Allah (SWT) to Purify your heart and niyyah (intention)
* Worship and act as if you see allah (SWT).
THE MESSENGER (SAWS) SAID:
“Perfect goodness is to worship God as if you were seeing Him, and while you see Him not, yet truly He sees you.” [Bukhari, Iman, 47; Muslim, Iman, 5.7.]
*examine how you react when someone praises you or criticizes you when you’ve done something purely for Allah.try to treat the praise/ criticism equally, neither feel joy nor sorrow because to do so reflects worldly motives and a lacking of true sincerity.
* Remembering Paradise (just think about getting to live in paradise!! PARADISE!!!)
* Remembering this life is short compared to the eternal hereafter, yet it has such of a large impact on it.
* Allah can see what you can not, so obey him and act in his name.
* Always do what you believe to be the proper thing to do in the name of Allah no matter what. It will turn out to be the best decision whether you perceive it at the time or not.
>Everything first comes into a person’s mind as an IDEA.
What is that idea?
If it’s for Allah (SWT)…let it grow in your mind.
If it’s not…stop and think, WHY?
If it’s for another person, wonder at how you are putting a human being over Allah (SWT). Wonder of how this person will not help you if you die tomorrow. Know that you will DEFINITELY regret having a wrong intention.
After you have your intention straight, go ahead and ACT upon that intention.
